This is Dean Beletich’s second exhibition with Straitjacket. His first in 2022 was Resolutions.  

Hermetic is a body of work made over the last two years. The work has been created as the title suggests, in a sealed off environment of creative isolation, in my studio. In practice the works are recorded mediations, evidenced by the materials. Hermetic is the third instalments of work following a thread of alchemic mark making. It follows on from previous bodies of exhibited work, Ritual Groove (2019-20) and Resolutions (2022-24) partly exhibited at Straitjacket in 2022.

Artist Biography
Dean Beletich lives and works in Newcastle, Australia. He is a graduate from the Newcastle Art School, National Art School and University of Newcastle. He works across a multiple of disciplines including printmaking, painting, drawing and photography. He has been exhibiting regularly since 1988 and is collected by private and public collectors in Australia and abroad. His last exhibition at Straitjacket was in 2022
