Other Worldly aims to create immersive and familiar worlds of fantasy that captivate the imagination, and evoke a sense of wonder, timelessness, and emotional resonance.

The opening piece of this collection, titled “Foresight,” serves as a self-portrait and a testament to my unwavering personal spirit behind this body of work.

This collection embodies texture, vibrant colours, and familiar motifs that blend traditional techniques with contemporary abstract elements. Imagined landscapes that feel like surreal destinations- inviting and comforting as if calling out to a part of us that yearns for connection, nostalgia, acceptance, and understanding.

Ultimately, this series transcends the ordinary and is a reminder of the beauty and vastness of the world beyond our everyday experiences.

Artist Biography 
Helena Newcombe is an emerging mixed-media artist known for her innovative use of embroidery and acrylic paint in her artworks. Drawing inspiration from the unique qualities of each medium, Helena seamlessly integrates embroidery to introduce texture and depth, enhancing the visual experience beyond traditional painting techniques.

By combining intricate stitching with vibrant acrylic colours, she creates richly textured compositions that engage viewers on multiple levels. Helena’s work reflects a passion for experimentation and pushing artistic boundaries, blending the traditional craftsmanship of embroidery with contemporary painting methods.

The deliberate, meditative process of embroidery allows Helena to infuse her pieces with a sense of intimacy and personal expression, inviting viewers into the narratives woven into her artwork. Through this combination of mediums, Helena strives to create visually striking and emotionally resonant art that speaks to the intersection of tradition and innovation.
