Isabel Gomez - Artist

Isabel Gomez a Newcastle artist who is known for her plein air paintings who has recently gone back into her past and reunited with still life. She graduated from Hunter Street TAFE  in 1999 and completed a BFA at Newcastle University in 2007. This year she was a finalist in the National Emerging Artist Prize, Sydney. She won the 2010 Plein Air Painting Prize and in 2011 was an artist in residency at Taronga Zoo. Isabel has been exhibiting for over 24 years and has been hung in the Paddington Art Prize, Portia Geach portrait prize and is represented in art collection in Newcastle, Sydney and overseas. 

Isabel’s first exhibited at Straitjacket was in 2022 and 2023. Her next exhibition is scheduled for 2025. View her STOCKROOM here.
