Musical encounters with the garden
9 - 31 May 2026
OPENING/MEET THE ARTIST Saturday 9 May, 11am – 5pm ALL WELCOME
My paintings in this exhibition portray an emotive rendition of colour and music which always plays a significant role in the creation of my works. My obsession with music gets me into a state where I become totally intuitive. A music teacher once looked at my work and thought I might have Synesthesia.
How do you find your subject matter?
Alot of inspiration for this exhibition came from our garden and the music I listen to when I paint.
What techniques do you use?
This current exhibition has been painted with acrylics and Kusakabe Aqyla.
Who are your influences?
I am strongly influenced by the music I play when I am painting, the drama of the Opera and my love of Adagios.
Lydia Miller is represented by Straitjacket. This is her 3rd solo exhibition at the gallery. Read her Artist Biography HERE.
