Daniela Cristallo - FADING PRESENCE OF DUST

From the far reaches of The Flinders Ranges, a fading presence of dust transcends along red dirt roads that stretch along ancient earthy terrain, arid mountain ranges and secluded jagged gorges –  diversifying among endless colour changes.

By looking outwards, inevitably the gaze is drawn inwards; echoes of the environment carve deeper sensations felt within the body’s register; leaving traces of visualized atmospheres.

Time stands still and a transcript of travel notes remain. Each brushstroke, each nuanced palette choice, is a means of translating subtle connections of recorded conversations, bridging together the majestic terrain of the South Australian Outback and the intricate spaces within one’s self. This body of work explores the interplay between external splendor and internal reflection.
